Despite developing Android for a variety of OEM partners, Google naturally has several exclusive features for its own pixel phones. Personal safety applications, for example, provide stronger pixel owners tools that will ensure their safety or, in the worst scenario, at least let their loved ones know their existence in an emergency. However, sometimes, simple words or even calls are not enough to provide a clear picture of this situation, so now Google will allow pixel users to record videos that can be automatically sent to emergency contacts as needed.
The personal safety application already has a good changing amount and the option you can tweak once, so you don’t need to think about it if an emergency occurs. Although some of them can be triggered automatically, such as a car accident, there are times when you might want to activate it manually. The latest update for the application does that, let the user press the power button five times to use “Emergency SOS” mode.
XDA, however, revealed that there were more to updates than just that trigger. This application now has the ability to record video clips up to 45 minutes long which can then be automatically sent to emergency contacts. All of this is optional, and users can choose to stop video recording manually anytime or refuse to send it to others. The number of options might really be a little confusing, so pay to set it up once and for all.
There are several warnings for this video recording feature that must be considered by pixel owners. Even though the best Google algorithms, 45-minute videos can end up quite large, and you will need a stable storage room and internet connection to send it. Video recording will also continue to reach a 45-minute mark, or the user manually stopped it. In some emergency situations, it might be impossible.
These videos are supported to the Google server, where they will stay there for seven days or until it is deleted manually. Before that expiration arrived, users can still share links to videos that they must need for several purposes after the incident.
